At the heart of the Kampala Slum Mobile Cinema Outreach are our open-air film screenings, transforming community spaces into vibrant theaters under the stars. Audiences are invited to experience a rich selection of documentaries, fiction films, and shorts, all thoughtfully curated to highlight essential human rights themes such as equality, justice, freedom of expression, and social inclusion.
These films aim to spark meaningful conversations around the inherent rights and dignity of every individual, using storytelling as a bridge to foster understanding and empathy. Each screening is held in accessible locations within local slum communities, bringing the cinematic experience to residents who may otherwise have limited access to such opportunities. By gathering to watch these impactful films in familiar spaces, we create a shared, immersive experience that connects audiences to vital issues and encourages community dialogue, growth, and advocacy.
