Target Audience

The festival targets residents of underserved slum communities in Entebbe and Kampala, with a special focus on Children (7-15), Teenagers (16-19), Women (20- 45+), Men (20-45+), and marginalized groups.

Themes

For this edition, we plan to focus on a range of human rights-related themes, including:

  1. Children’s Rights: Addressing issues such as child labor, access to education, and protection from exploitation and
  2. Women’s Rights: Highlighting issues such as gender equality, access to healthcare, and combating gender-based
  3. Access to Healthcare: Raising awareness about healthcare rights, challenges, and available resources in underserved
  4. Land Disputes and Environmental Rights: Exploring the impact of land disputes, deforestation, and climate change on communities’ livelihoods and
  5. Refugee and Internally Displaced Persons’ Rights: Advocating for the rights and integration of refugees and IDPs, and raising awareness about their challenges and contributions to
  6. Freedom of Expression and Association: Promoting the right to free speech, peaceful assembly, and political participation, particularly in marginalized
