The grand finale of the Kampala Slum Mobile Cinema Outreach took place on November 30, 2024, featuring a celebratory awards ceremony that honored filmmakers whose works have made a significant impact on raising awareness about human rights issues. The event celebrated both international and local filmmakers for their outstanding achievements in storytelling, creativity, and advocacy through their films.

  1. Best Film on Human Rights (International) – Honors an outstanding international film that powerfully addresses human rights themes.
  2. Audience Choice Award (5) – A unique set of awards determined by the audience’s votes during the screenings, reflecting the films that resonate most with the community.
  3. Best Local Feature Film (Fiction) – Recognizes an exceptional locally produced feature-length fiction film that explores human rights issues.
  4. Best Local Documentary (Feature/Short) – Acknowledges the best locally produced documentary, whether feature-length or short, that sheds light on pressing human rights challenges.
  5. Best Local Short Film (Fiction/Animation) – Celebrates the best local short film, whether fiction or animation, that brings human rights themes to life.
  6. Best Emerging Filmmaker – Awards an outstanding youth or student filmmaker whose innovative storytelling and fresh perspective highlight critical social issues.

These awards not only recognize artistic excellence but also aim to encourage the creation of more films that challenge societal injustices and promote human dignity.
